It’s doubly hard for business owners who are used to the other forms of internet marketing, which present predictable returns within a predictable timescale. It is natural and understandable for any site owner to want results from their SEO. This is why most optimisation experts spend a bit of time explaining the nature of the search engine optimisation process, to guard against the expectation of quick results. A lot of site owners still make mistakes, though, and it’s important to be aware of what rushing in can do to your site.

Here are a couple of the more common signs and outcomes of impatience:

*Making changes too soon. It is often necessary to tweak the SEO of a site after initial optimisation. This might involve a subtle change of keywords or a slight restructuring. It’s important not to make these changes too soon. SEO results need time to come through.

*Updating content in batches. Most site owners will be aware that frequent content updates are good for SEO. What they may not be aware of is the need for regularity in these updates.
