SEO Explained

Welcome to our dedicated page on Search Engine Optimization, or SEO as it’s commonly known. Here at Stuck on SEO, we believe in the power of knowledge, and our goal is to help you understand the ins and outs of SEO. Let’s dive in!

What is SEO?

SEO is the process of optimizing your website to increase its visibility for relevant searches. The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to garner attention and attract prospective and existing customers to your business.

Organic SEO vs. Paid Search

SEO can be divided into two main categories: Organic SEO and Paid Search.

Organic SEO refers to the methods used to obtain a high placement (or ranking) on a search engine results page in unpaid, algorithm-driven results. This involves optimizing your website and its content with relevant keywords, high-quality content, and a well-structured website.

Paid Search, on the other hand, involves paying for advertising space in the search engine results. When people search for keywords related to your business, your ad will appear at the top of the search results. While Paid Search can bring immediate results, Organic SEO is more sustainable in the long run.

Technical SEO

Technical SEO refers to the process of optimizing your website for the crawling and indexing phase. It’s called “technical” because it has nothing to do with the actual content of the website or with website promotion. The main goal of technical SEO is to optimize the infrastructure of a website. This includes aspects like site speed, mobile-friendliness, indexing, crawlability, site architecture, structured data, and security.

On-Page SEO

On-Page SEO, also known as on-site SEO, involves optimizing individual webpages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines. This includes both the content and HTML source code of a page that can be optimized, as opposed to off-page SEO which refers to links and other external signals. On-page SEO includes elements like title tags, meta descriptions, headers, URL structure, content quality, keyword optimization, and image optimization.

Off-Page SEO

Off-Page SEO refers to all the activities you do away from your website to raise the ranking of a page with search engines. These activities include link building, social media marketing, and social bookmarking. While many people associate off-page SEO with link building, it goes beyond that. Many activities that don’t result in a standard link on other sites are important for off-page optimization.

At Stuck on SEO, we can guide you through each of these elements, helping you understand how they work and how to leverage them effectively in your SEO strategy. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools you need to take control of your SEO.
